Creating a safe place for everyone to sing and experience the numerous benefits and joy of singing together is Sue’s main priority. She has over twenty years of experience leading choirs and a unique knack of instilling a love of singing in everyone she meets!
Sue started Choirs4Kids in 2016 after seeing her daughter’s delight when singing and realising that many children are either too young to join their school choir, or the school does not have a choir.
In 2021, Choirs4Kids have been awarded Silver in the AusMumpreneur Awards for Business Pivot and Best Covid Adaption Business in the What’s On 4 Kids Awards. They pivoted to an online world and took it by storm, with the move now allowing them to make a difference to the lives of children all over the world.
Sue has found that these weekly Online sessions massively boost children’s confidence. They are in their own comfortable surroundings with friends or family around them, and of course the family pet can sing too!
Sue also recently won Outstanding Teacher age 5-12 in the What’s On 4 Kids Awards.
She excels in helping young people find their confidence through her absolute focus on each individual. Sue is so much more than a singing teacher. She has a vast experience of helping children become more confident in many areas of their lives. As Sue works with these children, she helps them realise their vocal potential, giving them the power to believe in their own voice.
Alongside running Online sessions and In Person classes in the South West of WA, Sue also directs her adult community choir V2Online.
On a personal level Sue has performed in local theatre groups and adult choirs. She has a Bachelor of Education in Music and Sport, ABRSM examinations in Piano, Violin & Flute, Estill Voice Training and is an Embodima graduate. She is a registered teacher with a valid Working with Children Card and National Police Clearance.
Every person, small or tall, who walks into one of our classes feels valued and CONNECTED with us through the positive energy that fills the room.
Everyone feels a sense of COMMUNITY in this inclusive environment. Parents and children make new friends in our safe community where everyone feels encouraged.
A safe place where young people learn to believe and trust in their own CREATIVITY gaining a freedom to explore their own unique voice.
Through opportunities, encouragement and trust, students grow in CONFIDENCE and learn to persevere in order to achieve their best.
Harper has LOVED joining in with her Choir4Kids Zoom lessons while we have been traveling.
It has been something that she has looked forward to all week and even if we haven’t been able to make it to the live lesson because of reception she has wanted to go back and join in with the recordings. Thank you so much for creating this amazing resource that we have been able to use on the road!
